The Streaming Giant Chooses Ideal Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the real showdown won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bentham. This character has the ability to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their main hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a interpretation of that role re-envisioned as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action series, unlike the source material and animated series.
The new cast member will work alongside a number of recently announced actors who will portray Baroque Works to the screen, including head Sir Crocodile, portrayed by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the next season likely to portray the Little Garden storyline, this marks a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal further changes to the plot development.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the character. Besides their current animated role in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for writing and starring in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
