Dean Henderson Was rarely tested to perform before the break until forced to intervene by Arbër Hoxha’s curled attempt. One well-timed sliding tackle against an Albanian attacker demonstrated his reading of the game. 6/10

Adam Wharton A debut start with the national team. A bit sloppy on the ball however his whipped deliveries posed a danger. An effective pace-controller available to the manager to have versus sides that sit back. Cautioned after a reckless tackle. 6/10

Declan Rice Set-pieces on corner kicks and set-plays caused problems. Had room to drift down the left flank only to be offside upon receiving with a chance to score. Awarded a merited substitution after an hour. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in a forward spot out wide while also did plenty of defensive duties. Displayed glimpses of brilliance but dragged an effort wide. Replaced towards the end by a teammate, a fellow player, after receiving a caution. 7

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity before halftime, his effort excellently kept out from the Albanian keeper. With a teammate hanging back, he was forced to offer an outlet out wide but his crosses from the touchline were hit and miss. Substituted late in the match. 6/10

Harry Kane The decisive figure scoring 77th and 78th strikes at international level. His first a trademark opportunist's goal while the second a superb header having drifted away off his defender. At 32, he’s only getting better and the side are strong contenders in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Struggled to make an impact on the left flank. Had a good opening when set up by Bellingham but Strakosha made the save. Rashford produced a bigger an impact in his place. 5
