Approximately 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland woke up experiencing outages on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating strong winds topping over 100 km/h.

Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by significant hail.

Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received 598 requests for assistance across the area, mostly for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

During the peak on Sunday, more than 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued storm activity anticipated across various areas of both areas.
Health Warning
Health officials warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
